Activity FTA 1.3: Capacity-building regarding effective implementation of EVFTA ROO through supporting issuing authorities with the electronic certification system (ecosys)
Objectives:
Provide detailed guidelines to issuing authorities on checking and verifying the originating status of goods and other efficient C/O issuance and management strategies; Improve the precision of C/O data for accurate compilation and valuation of EVFTA utilisation and evidence-based decision-making; and maximise the benefits of EVFTA ROO.
Counterparts: MOIT and other line ministries.
Outputs and expected outcome:
The activity will produce a research report reviewing the current capacity of issuing authorities and ecosys and publish guidelines on improving C/O issuance via ecosys.
One workshop will be organised on strategies to improve ecosys, and one training session will be organised on recommended ecosys guidelines. This activity is expected to improve operationalization of the ecosys and therefore increase C/O issuance.
