KAS Foundation has been focus on supporting Vietnam Government and the private sector to understand the Impacts of the EVFTA on the Vietnamese Economy and Policy Formation after one year of implementation. A study had been undertaken in cooperation with Vietnam Institute for Economic and Policy Research (VEPR). (click here to download the study)
For the Vietnam agricultural sector, EVFTA is opening the door to an approximately 440 million consumers market with opportunities for fresh, canned, processed fruits and vegetables. To be able to reap the benefits of this new opportunity, Vietnamese farmers need to understand the requirements to export to the EU and enhance their export readiness.
In 2022, KAS foundation is planning to work on a policy brief regarding the impact of EVFTA on the EU foreign direct investments. Talking about the potential collaboration with ARISE+ Viet Nam project, Mr. Florian Feyerabend said: “Vietnam is next to Singapore the only ASEAN country that concluded a FTA with the EU. To make this ambitious FTA a success story, we all must join hands. ARISE+ Viet Nam Project plays a decisive role in increasing the understanding about EVFTA”
